How to prepare Vegie Delights Vegie Sausages.

Please always follow cooking instructions on the back of pack.

If you are using a pan or BBQ, cook on medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes. Vegie Delights Vegie Sausages are also perfect in the Air Fryer! Cook for 6 – 7 minutes on 160°C.

Always remember to heat thoroughly and evenly before eating.  Also good to know is that over cooking may dry or toughen your Vegie Delights Vegie Sausages so cook gently according to these instructions.

    First ‘faux meat’ I’ve tried and actually enjoyed. To me they tasted the exact same as regular sausages. My 2 kids also ate them with no issues and not once questioned anything about them.

  • Tasty snags

    I bought two packs of Vegie Delights plant based sausages for dinner tonight. I prepared a bangers and mash meal out of them. The taste was delicious and was an easy swap from beef based sausages. My son was impressed by the taste and he’s a fussy eater. The whole family devoured their meal with second helpings. I love the fact that it’s made in Australia. I will definitely buy these again!

  • Surprisingly good!

    I was sceptical at first with this product but once we cooked them up & served them to the whole family, everyone enjoyed them, the texture is different to what we are used to in a sausage but still a great texture to eat & tasted great, lots of flavour! Will purchase again!

    Oh wow, these sausages were absolutely amazing. So quick and easy to cook, they have a wonderful taste and texture. They feel very light in the stomach which is amazing, and they were loved by the whole family, from the oldest to the youngest! These are a wonderful addition to the weekly menu, and will definitely be purchased again!

  • Pleasantly surprised!

    I really enjoyed these sausages and so did my two year old daughter. They were quick to cook (especially compared to typical sausages!) but had the texture and taste I’d expect from a sausage. Will try them as a ‘sausage sizzle’ next!

  • So satisfying

    Just yum! So tasty, the flavour and satisfaction you get when smashing one of these is soo good when you are craving a quick meal or a yummy lunch/dinner that doesn’t take too long to prepare! I found these so easy to work with and even used some to make a sausage roll which was soooo delicious! I recommend them in a wrap with bbq sauce or on there own with salad so yummy and just want I was craving! They have now become a staple on the shopping list! I need more easy to make and versatile Ingredients now that I am a

  • Great Meat Alternative!

    Found these packs of sausages in the meat free section at Woolies and was surprised to find such variety of other products available.

    Brought it home and we just did a simple sausage sizzle, fried them up as per the instructions on the back and slapped them in some fresh white bread with some tomato sauce. They tasted very similar to a beef sausage but there was a distinct texture to it, I enjoyed it, so did two out of three of my kids.

    Delicious taste and portion size was nice. I did find it rather pricey for the pack you get. I would have to buy 2-3 to maybe feed everyone in our household but it was still a very enjoyable meal.

    I would definitely consider keeping a pack handy in the freezer for another that happens a to be vegetarian or vegan so at least I’ve got something else substantial to offer if it came to meal time.

  • Yummy and nice mild taste

    I am usually sceptical when it comes to trying plant based sausages but I have to say Vegie Sasuages have surprised me! If you are a meat lover, let me tell you straight away, these sausages don’t taste like meat but they do have a “meat-like” texture. I don’t mind the taste actually. It tastes much better than other brands I have tried. You get a lot of wheaty flavour but it’s not overpowering and there’s a bit of spicy flavour coming trough too which is interesting. They also don’t leave that weird aftertaste in your mouth like some plant based sausages do and I think this is one of the biggest reasons I love them. They also have a nice light bbq smell if cooked. Or it could because I pan fry them!? It only takes 4-5 minutes to cook so it’s super convenient if you are in a rush.

  • Surpringsly yummy

    Getting the kids to eat more vegetables without it looking like vegetables is a daily struggle. These are great. Hide them perfectly in pasta etc and the kids don’t even know that it’s vegetables. Tastes great so it’s a win win.

    We enjoyed the taste of these and they were easily moved into our weekly meals. I would buy again if on special but full price they were a bit much for what they proceed in being full.

    I used these at my baby girls 1st birthday for a friend who is vegan but also put them out for people to eat! And they were gone by the end of it! So a hit! Great alternative sausage sizzle!

    The whole family enjoyed having Vegie Delights sausages on nights when we’re busy with after school activities and just needed quick and easy meals. The kids had it with bread.   • Tasty alternative to the classic Aussie Snag

    Although my whole family of five were not sold on the vegetarian alternative. I (mum) really enjoyed cooking the vegie delights, very quick and easy mid-week dinner and it is hard to tell the difference to meat sausages. I would like to incorporate this as a meal for the family on quick sport/busy nights after work.

  • Yummy and convenient

    I thought these were yummy and easy to prepare. I had them with a fresh green salad. As they were cooking they smelled great and the texture and taste was good. Only comment is I would bot recommend cooking them in the air fyer (even though instructions on pack say so). They get a much better, crispy texture on the outside if cooked in pan with light spray of oil.

    It’s good for trying one time but I didn’t like the texture, the taste is also very bland but you can try it for a change or add some chilli sauce with it.

  • Lovely dinner idea.

    The Vegie Delight sausages goes well with everything. They can be curried, BBQ’d or can be eaten as it it. The texture is great & the flavours are in the right amount. Nothing to fault. Our new family favourite sausages.

  • Quick and Easy meal

    The Vegie Delights have been a quick and easy meal that the family has enjoyed over the summer. Very healthy to eat as they are full of protein and easy to fry up after work. I’ve also used these for a picnic and they were a hit. I seem to need to cook them a little longer than the directions as it takes a little longer to get a nice colour on them. Overall a really nice product for meat-free alternative.

    This was really easy to cook and it was enjoyed by every family member.
    It tasted good and we were surprised with how it tasted.
    My kids love sausages and I love how it has vegetables in it as they don’t eat enough of vegetables so that was definitely a win.

  • Great meat free substitute

    My husband and I loved them but the kids won’t massive fans. I definitely would get them again for myself though. I prefer them over meat sausages.

  • Only one person guessed the swap!

    Twice during this review, I’ve served up Vegie Delights Vegie Sausages in the same recipes I would usually cook. One dinner was a quick one pan Japanese Curry which included loads of veges, the Vegie Delights Vegie Sausages chopped up and a Japanese Curry sauce the whole family loves. The only thing I did differently was to add the vegie sausages last instead of first as the instructions said to cook gently and not overcook. I just added them to the curry 10 minutes before serving to gently cook through.

    Only my hubbie raised an eyebrow upon tasting the curry. I quickly and silently shook my head to shush him! He and I kept eating and so did the kids. Everyone gobbled the curry the way they usually do. So for me it’s a no brainer. The more vegie products I can introduce the better. The little babies are going to be a regular on the Woolies shopping list.

    Oh and I’m also going to try a few of the other Vegie Delights products which I saw in the chiller at Woolies.

    Thanks Vegie Delights. Without this review I wouldn’t have thought to try the range.

  • Easy to cook healthier meat alternative

    These were a hit in our house, my son in particular is very fussy and loves beef sausages so he was the real critic. Although he could tell it was not a meat sausages he was more than happy to eat them and loved them. They were easy to good and very versatile! I will be purchased these again for sure!

  • Nice but I found laking a bit of taste!

    I enjoyed the flavour to these vegie delights, however myself and my family also expressed that there was something missing. The flavour just tasted a little bland. I did enjoy how quick and easy they were to cook and how versatile they are. I probably wouldn’t buy them again. I have tried other vegan products which are also hit and miss.

    Being a busy family it’s difficult to think of healthy options that’s a good price range for kids! The vegie delight’s sausage was a winner with the kids and adults and also guilt free dinner option on a busy weeknight! Thanks for the yummy option to try!

    I love them and so did all the family. They were easy and quick to find in the shops, easy to cook and didn’t burn at all which I find so many beef sausages do rather quickly. A perfect meat replacement and I’ve already bought them since!

  • Quick and simple dinner, minimal effort and ingredients

    I love this meatless substitute and decided to whip up a super simple and quick dinner using the Vegie Delights – Vegie Sausages.
    1. Fried up a sliced onion before pouring in a passata sauce and four bean mix.
    2. Seasoned with salt and pepper and cook for a few minutes before layering the vegie sausages, green beans and cheery tomatoes in the sauce
    3. Grill in the oven for 5-10 mins (get some colour on the sausages) and serve with a sprinkle of parmesan and spring onion. Dinner was served!

  • Meatless Mondays Done Right

    I love incorporating vegetarian dishes in our meals weekly and loved that the short cook time allowed quick and easy meals on the quick.
    The photo attached was a super quick snack I added to my girls lunchbox and they loved it!

  • Finally a meat free option for the whole family

    Super convenient and easy. Popped them in the air fryer. Surprised how they look like sausages. 2 out of 4 kiddos ate them as hotdogs with cheese and sauerkraut. The fussy 8 year old and 2 year old had them with brown fried rice. The long shelf life is perfect to store them in the fridge for a healthy quick meal. Hubby took the left overs to work!!   • Delicious meat alternative

    The entire family were pleasantly surprised with these sausages. We tried them on the bbq just like we would normally eat sausages and we also cut them into pieces and cooked them in a sauce and both ways were delicious. We would definitely purchase them again and have recommended them to others as a meat free alternative.

  • Unfortunately not for my family

    My family and I trialled vegie delight sausages and unfortunately we didn’t enjoy them.
    We were optimistic upon purchasing them, the packaging was easy to transport, store and open.
    Upon opening the pack the sausages had the look of hot dogs with a smooth outer surface. They didn’t smell very appealing but I proceeded to cook them anyway. They were very quick and easy to cook (only 4-5mins in the pan) and the outsides did turn a nice golden colour, however that is where the appeal ended. Upon cutting into the sausages they had a strange almost spongey texture similar to that of tofu and were quite dense. They didn’t have any flavour and were just very bland. Maybe if they had some herbs or spices they would be a bit more appetising. They weren’t dry, and I like the ingredients, especially the lower fat content.
    I know they can’t really be compared to traditional meat sausages but as a substitute I think there are better options out there. My family regularly enjoys meat substitutes and plant based options so we had high expectations, but these just didn’t perform.
    I’m very thankful for the opportunity to trial these but just isn’t something I would buy for my family.

  • Tasty convenient affordable meat free mondays sorted

    Honestly these vegie sausages were tasty convenient and best of all affordable.

    We introduced meat free mondays for our family of 5 in an effort to maintain our budget and be a little kinder to mother nature

    A tray bake with these and lots of roast veg and balsamic went down a treat for hubby and I, plus our 3 little people loved them. Win win.

  • Very Delightful

    Absolutely devine. My child has autism and has sensory issues and for him to love these and want these all the time is awesome. Loved by the whole family. Can’t wait to come up with some awesome recipes. A big thumbs up from my son.

  • Quick, easy, yummy

    My daughter has recently been having problems with meat. She loves it, it just doesn’t agree with her. She felt like she was missing out on the kid fave of sausage sizzle. So I was excited to give these a go. She really enjoyed them and was happy to have a sausage sizzle again! It’s a win for me!

  • Great meat alternative

    Easy collection process and great alternative for the family. We like to add as much flavour as possible as they can become dry to taste.

  • Great replacement

    Great alternative for meat! Tasty and easy to make! Will become a great staple for me on meatless Monday’s. I have cooked then in the airfryer and the outcome was great. A decent filling healthy option. its also versatile and can be used in alot of different recipies.

  • Easy Peasy

    I served with baked potatoes and homemade mushroom gravy. It was so easy I just popped them in the oven when the potatoes were nearly done. The kids loved them and they passed the Dad test too. Winning!!

    I have a child with ASD so sometimes prefers certain things. Well with vegie delights vegie sausages we’re a huge hit for everyone. Will be making it a permanent thing.

  • Thumbs up from the kids!

    There are several varieties of Vegie Delights and I bought 2 different types to try. I was a little sceptical and doubt it will go down well with the kids buy they gave me a thumbs up! It is a bit softer than the regular sausages but it is packed with flavour! This will be on repeat in my household for sure!

    My kids are bland eaters, they do eat sausages, they had vegie delights sausages for dinner and they were pleased.
